The Kavli Foundation has an anti-harassment policy and principles and practices for meetings. We take every claim of misconduct or concern seriously and are committed to a fair, prompt and thorough investigation of each one. The Kavli Foundation will make reasonable conclusions based on the evidence collected. When the investigation is completed, you will be informed of the outcome. If The Kavli Foundation determines that conduct is in violation of the Meeting Principles and Practices or the SciPep Conference Terms and Conditions, appropriate remedial action will immediately be taken.

By attending this event, you acknowledge and agree to the Meeting Principles and Practices and to the following Terms and Conditions.
EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. Attendee Requirements
1.1 Access. Your registration entitles you to access to the SciPEP Conference and workshops for which you have registered. SciPep co-hosts may exclude any prospective attendee from registering for or participating in any SciPEP Conference at their sole discretion.
1.2 Use of Likeness. By attending the SciPEP Conference, you acknowledge and agree to grant SciPEP Conference and its co-hosts the right to record, film, live stream, photograph, or capture your likeness in any media now available or hereafter developed and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally to disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from you or any payment to you. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to edit such media, the right to use the media alone or together with other information, and the right to allow others to use or disseminate the media.
2. Prohibited Conduct
2.1 Disruptive Conduct. You acknowledge and agree that the SciPep co-hosts reserve the right to remove you from the conference at their sole discretion if your participation or behavior creates a disruption or hinders the experience of the conference.
2.2 Recording, Live Streaming, and Videotaping. Attendees may not record or broadcast audio or video of sessions of the SciPEP Conference.
3. Quality Assurance
3.1 Speaker and Program Changes. The SciPEP Conference strives to provide you with the most productive and effective educational experience possible. As speakers are confirmed months before the SciPEP Conference, some speaker or topic changes may occur. The SciPEP Conference nor its co-hosts are responsible for these changes.
3.2 Conference Execution. If the SciPEP Conference or its co-hosts are prevented from carrying out obligations as they pertain to the conference as a result of any cause beyond their control such as a software or hosting platform issue or due to a “Force Majeure Event” such as, but not limited to, natural disaster, pandemic, or any other comparable calamity, casualty or condition the co-hosts shall have the right to immediately terminate the entire or affected portion of the conference without liability and shall be relieved of its obligations to registrants. If termination is due to a Force Majeure Event, the SciPEP Conference co-hosts will schedule a future date and your registration will be applied to the rescheduled conference.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability
The SciPEP Conference nor its co-hosts give no warranties in respect of any aspect of the conference or any materials related thereto or offered at the conference and, to the fullest extent possible under the laws governing these Terms and Conditions, disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, timeliness, and merchantability. The SciPEP Conference is provided on an “as-is” basis. The views, opinions, and positions expressed by the speakers or attendees at the SciPEP Conference are theirs alone and do not necessarily reflect the views, opinions, or positions of the SciPEP Conference or its co-hosts or any employee thereof. We make no representations as to accuracy, completeness, timeliness, suitability, or validity of any information presented by speakers or attendees and will not be liable for any errors, omissions, or delays in this information or any losses, injuries, or damages arising from its display or use. The SciPep Conference nor its co-hosts endorse, and expressly disclaim all liability relating to, any of the products or services provided by speakers and attendees. Except as required by law, neither the SciPEP Conference nor its co-hosts shall be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential costs, damages or losses arising directly or indirectly from the SciPEP Conference.
5. Arbitration and Governing Law
Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in Los Angeles, California in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
6. General
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms and Conditions shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable. Parties agree that these Terms and Conditions is the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding of the parties and supersedes and cancels all previous written and oral agreements, communications and other understandings relating to the subject matter of these Terms and Conditions, and that all modifications must be in a writing signed by both parties, except as otherwise provided herein. No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment is created as a result of these Terms and Conditions, and you acknowledge that you do not have any authority of any kind to bind the SciPEP Conference or its co-hosts in any respect whatsoever.
